F.A.C.T. recognizes that as children and families grow and change, features of our services must also transform and mature to meet the common and unique needs of the people we serve. The Kindred Way Program was created out of this understanding. Originally designed for female adolescents, the program has evolved and is now providing the same quality services for young adult women with developmental disabilities. Kindred Way continues to provide an enriched, warm home environment that focuses on living in the least restrictive environment possible. We recognize the need for autonomy in adulthood. We also recognize the need for individual support and resources to live as independently as possible, to take control of daily living and future goals. Our home offers a 24-hour support staff with a ratio of one staff to two residents. The house is located in Winterport, Maine, nestled in a serene residential neighborhood approximately 12 miles from Bangor. Our home accommodates women who are ambulatory.
