Direct Support Professionals

Families And Children Together is announcing immediate openings for Relief Direct Support Professionals in the Kindred Way program in Winterport  (a 2-bed program for adult women).  Direct Support Professionals provide guidance, supervision, and teaching for adults with developmental disabilities in the areas of life/safety skills, activities of daily living, communication, community inclusion, and social skills.   Relief hours include holiday, evening, asleep overnight and weekend shifts.


Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Good reading and writing skills
  • Ability to pass and maintain state required certifications (Direct Support Professional and Certified Residential Medication Aid curriculums)
  • Attend required trainings and supervision meetings
  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
  • Excellent judgment
  • Be able to work as part of a team as well as work independently
  • Background checks that meet Agency standards.

Families And Children Together (F.A.C.T.) is a unique, progressive social service agency providing an array of services for children and families.  We have immediate openings for weekday hours, early evening, and Saturdays in our Family Visitation Program.

 

Family Visitation Support Staff:

These are flexible, part-time positions of 20 hours or less per week.

Responsibilities include:  Ensuring families have a safe and supportive atmosphere in which to visit and interact with each other.  Visitation Support Staff also provide role modeling and suggestions to parents regarding parenting strategies and child behavior management.

Minimum Qualifications:  Training and/or experience in the social service field.  Enthusiasm and sincere interest in working with a variety of families with diverse needs.  Valid Maine driver’s license and clean driving record.  Must be available for bi-weekly group supervision.  Ed Techs and University students are encouraged to apply for after-school hours. 

Training is provided along as well as part-time benefits depending on the number of hours worked.
