Kids Way I

This program is for boys between the ages of 13 and 18.

Families and Children Together is dedicated to providing services for youth with emotional and behavioral, challenges. Through a youth-specific program, F.A.C.T. provides a treatment model that encourages and fosters the development and healing of youth with special needs. Services are provided twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.  Residents of KidsWay I attend public school.

It is our core belief that the most important element of childhood is famliy life and the compassion and structure that encompasses it. Some youth are unable to thrive in a family setting due to past trauma experienced within their home environment. For each youth, we strive to create an environment that is responsive to their unique needs, centers on their physical and emotional safety, and support the youth to reach his full potential.

The KidsWay I program provides one such environment in a home designed for youth who have a history of multiple placement disruptions and who have not been able to tolerate the family-focused approach to treatment. The primary method of intervention is supported living. This environment is characterized by safety, nurturing and stability that is created by a team of skilled youth care staff. These caring professionals encourage the continued social, developmental, spiritual, and emotional growth of the youth. A core value is to assist the youth to discover and embrace their self-worth, abilities, and aspirations. The structure of the program is based on routine, accountability, personal responsibility, and social responsibility. The service delivery system is based in compassion, flexibility, humor, dignity, and respect for the individual uniqueness.
